When most people hear the name “Tesla” they think of the great radio controversy regarding whether or not Tesla or Marconi was the true inventor. Today, there is a new form of controversy and it is whether or not the Tesla generator – crafted by the same Nicola Tesla of the great radio controversy — truly can provide a legitimate source of power to a home or commercial property.
For many, the potential viability of a Tesla Generator could prove to be both a cost saving and renewable energy source that has long since been sought after but not yet delivered. Can the Tesla Generator truly offer this long sought after solution?
One thing to be mindful of is the fact this “long sought after” solution is not new. The concept is based on the design of the Tesla Coil which first appeared in Telsa’s notes in 1891. Such notes have found their way to the public after allegedly being suppressed for many decades. Within Tesla’s notes, it was mentioned that “cosmic rays” would be harnessed for the creation of electricity. The term cosmic rays is somewhat nebulous because it lacks clarity. On the surface, this would sound like something right out of a science-fiction novel. One does have to keep in mind a great deal of speculation was required on the part of innovative scientists in the late 19th century since they were frequently treading into new ground others had little or no experience with.
Is this really science-fiction, though?
A closer look at Tesla’s academic notes on the subject reveals he was interested in developing an electrical motor that would not require fuel. His theory of power generation was rooted in employing a charged particular collector which would eradicate the need for any external fuel source. Tesla did patent the device’s motor, transformer, and the alternating current generator. As such, the notion that his notes were completely secret and suppressed is questionable. He was certainly very open about what he was trying to create although the academic and scientific community where rather skeptical that it was feasible…at the time.
In the modern era, interest in the Tesla Generator has been renewed since so many are looking for alternate sources of energy as a means of weaning off of fossil fuel sources. There are many sources available which offer step-by-step instructions on how to build a Tesla Generator as this is not a mass produced or marketed electricity generation system. Text instructions appear on the internet along with videos of such directions resented on file sharing sites. Of course, there are also sources which offer – for a fee – the “true” designs of the Tesla Generator. Such designs claims to offer insight into all the required steps needed to effectively generate the requisite electricity to power a home or office. Whether or not the Tesla Generator you build can deliver on what is sought after remains to be seen. There is not effective mass produced model in existence so speculation will always exist regarding its actual functional ability. However, if the right minds are able to work on it, over time a feasible version of the Tesla Generator may very well be crafted.
